With the holiday season approaching and the early chills of the winter in the air, November is the perfect time to bring your family together. Whether you prefer to stay warm or bundle up outside, Prince George’s has an activity for you. You can catch a legend performing hit songs on stage, test your creative ability with a holiday craft, run or walk to help families in need, and so much more.

Add these November activities and events in Prince George’s to your calendar now:

  1. Holiday crafts bring extra joy to the season. Head to Darnall’s Chance House Museum on November 4 for the Holiday Snowflake Craft Workshop. Register ahead of time for either the morning or afternoon session to build a 14-inch woven snowflake.
  2. Pack a picnic and head to the National Harbor on Sunday evenings to enjoy family-friendly holiday movies outside. Films run from November 12 through December 17 and kick off with Fred Claus.
  3. Learn how to protect, preserve, and store textiles at the Montpelier House Museum on November 12. Preservation Workshop: Caring for Textiles will offer expert advice and include a free tour of the museum.
  4. Catch a children’s show at the Prince George’s Publick Playhouse. On November 14, you can bring kids to the Velveteen Rabbit, and on November 20, you can see Peter and the Wolf.
  5. See a legend in action during the Diana Ross show at The Theater at MGM National Harbor. She’ll be performing her greatest hits on November 15 and 16.
  6. Run or walk through the Winter Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park at 6 p.m. to help families in need this season. The Trot for a Turkey event on November 18 will take you through a three-mile course, and each registration fee will provide a turkey to one family.
  7. Bring a few more laughs into your life during the Jay Leno show on November 18. The Theater at MGM National Harbor will host the comedian for the one-night performance.
  8. ICE! has come back to Gaylord National for the season. From November 19 through December 31, you can immerse yourself in this 17,000-foot story-driven Christmas experience. You can spot Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer, ride down frozen slides, wander through icy tunnels, and check out the snowglobe exhibit. 
  9. Dig into a STEAM lesson at the College Park Aviation Museum on November 25. During this program for kids, experts will explore aviation in military history and lead an activity about making mini paratroopers.
  10. Watch the evening tree lighting ceremony at National Harbor every night starting at sunset. You’ll listen to a holiday medley recorded by the United States Air Force Band as you watch. On Saturdays, you can stay for the fireworks show.
